Brick Walls

These are some of my biggest 'brick walls', or names which
I have significant research on but can not make a connection
to the family tree. If you can help, please contact me !

William Bitler (Lancaster Co, PA)

In 1850, William Bitler and his daughter, Susanna, were living in Ephrata, Lancaster Co, PA, on the farm of William and Elizabeth Jacob.  William was 30, and Susanna was 12 in that year according to the Census record.  By 1880, Susannah had married  John F Hartranft, and was living on the Hartranft farm in Elizabeth Twp, Lancaster Co, PA, listing 4 daughters, 2 sons, her father, William Bitler, and John F Hartranft's father, William Hartranft. William Hartranft's mother was Lea Fetter.  Susannah Bitler and John Hartranft are buried in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, near Brickerville, Lancaster County.

I have about 194 descendants of William Bitler but no way to connect him to the family tree.

John Bitler (Frederick Co, MD)

John Bitler (b. Abt 1806 d. 13 Jan 1882), is listed in the 1850 Census in the Woodsboro District, Frederick Co, Maryland, and was listed as John 'Bidler', born in MD, married to Elizabeth [Ann ElizabethPerrill], with 2 daughters and 3 sons, and a 90 yr old pauper, Amelia A Bidler. In the 1880 Census, his son Charles lists his father's birth place as Pennsylvania.  John's wifedied in 17 Jul 1875, and they are both buried in the Glade Cemetery, Walkersville, Frederick Co, MD. Two of his sons, Charles O and Simon D raised families in the Frederick area.  Charles is buried in the Glade Cemetery near his father, while Simon is buried in the M.E. Church Cemetery at New Market, Frederick Co, MD.

I have about 297 descendants of this family but no way to connect them to the family tree.

William Bitler (Columbia Co, PA)

William Bitler (b. Jan 1, 1825 d. Jan. 23, 1911), is buried in Fisher's Cemetery on the hills above Mainville, Columbia County, PA.  His descendants stayed in and around Columbia County, while others went south the Lehigh and Northampton County.  While I still don't have definitive evidence linking his to the Bitler's of Schuylkill County, I'm sure it will be revealed soon.

I have about 226 descendants of this family recorded.
